germano japanese identity

two of those people of german and japanese miscegenation. carl sadakichi hartmann and richard von coudenhove-kalergi.

they seem to have been a thing in the 1800s when germany had their nationals trading in japan.
these two had german fathers and japanese mothers, the others i don't know about.

sadakichi, the elder of the two went on to become an author, performer and gardener of white chrysanthemums. perhaps as a way of enjoying the special star he was born under.

the younger kalergi became known for promoting miscegenation as an utopia. perhaps as a sort of revenge for his birth.

i believe i would prefer living in a world informed by the writings of a sadakichi than living in a world ruled under the insane jottings of a kalergi.
