townscape--keyhole?pictureframe

a passage through a building at fifteen scadding avenue. this piece of townscape is interesting for the inclusion of two patterns mentioned in ivor dewolfes picture essay on italian townscape. he identifies and defines two path ways with a roof over them, one a simple frame with no depth to it the other path is enclosed on two sides by enough building wall to create a roofed tunnel.
this example has both the quality of a tunnel and near the ceiling has the picture frames dewolfe mentions the other type as having, and in this case several times over.
